Beginning in 1985 with a single store in Cabin John, Maryland, a suburb of Washington, D.C., the Wild Bird Centers of America, Inc. has subsequently grown into a leading franchisor in the birding industry.
There are approximately 85 Wild Bird Centers serving communities across the United States. Our full-service stores carry a complete line of birding products including seed, suet, feeders, baths, houses, books, hardware and garden accessories. Whether you are looking for unique bird houses or require materials to set up your own custom back yard feeding station, we have what you need! You'll also find a variety of exciting nature-oriented gifts for any occasion as well as a variety of unique local products, hand-picked by the owner of the store.
Knowledgeable, caring staff assure that each Wild Bird Center serves as a valuable community information resource.
The Wild Bird Centers of Fox River Grove and Libertyville have been serving their respective communities for over twelve years. Mike Schudrowitz, the current owner has owned the Libertyville store since 2003 and the Fox River Grove store since 2007. Besides being a life long bird lover and watcher, Mike has a 35 year background in the retail and wholesale photo/optical business (he knows a little bit about binoculars).
The Wild Bird Center of Libertyville closed in June 2009. We continue to serve all of Lake County with free delivery. We continue to support environmental causes thruout our marketing area.
At the Wild Bird Centers of Fox River Grove, all of our employees are deeply involved with bird feeding, bird watching and the environment. We're all here to help you do the same.
Life is for the birds.
